Why This Book Exists
For more than a decade, listeners from around the world have gathered at Chopin Salon in Warsaw to spend an evening with music.
They came for Chopin. Yet what often remained after the final note was something more difficult to name: a conversation, a memory, a moment of recognition, a feeling that something deeply human had been touched.
Guided by Chopin's twenty-four Preludes, this book brings together twenty-four literary portraits inspired by artists, listeners, friends, and the many forms of presence that passed through the doors of Chopin Salon.
Each portrait is accompanied by an archetype — not as a label, but as an invitation to recognize something in ourselves or in those we have loved.
